Happy B-Day Bra

C'è un po di confusione... per alcune fonti il reggiseno nasce nel 1907, per altri invece nasce nel 1912 dall'idea di una giovane americana Mary Phelps Jacob; Il reggiseno di Mary Phleps era una sorta di tracolla che separava il seno servendosi di due fazzoletti e di fasce per neonato. Nasce quindi come oggetto pratico per il mondo femminile ma diventa uno strumento di seduzione, nell'immaginario maschile.

There's a bit of confusion ... for some sources, the bra was born in 1907, for others in 1912 with the idea of a young American Mary Phelps Jacob, MaryPhleps' bra was a kind of strap that separated the breast using two handkerchiefs and newborn's bands. Born as practical object for the feminine world, it becomes an instrument of seduction for male imagination.

Da allora fu una continua evoluzione. Negli anni 20 il reggiseno si trasformò in una tracolla che appiattiva il seno e gli “donava” un profilo informe: era la moda della donna alla “garçonne”, della quale ne fu testimonial Greta Garbo.

Dieci anni dopo invece spopolano le modelle magrissime, per esempio Twiggy. Il reggiseno viene così snobbato e sarà l'evento che precede il femminismo che dichiara guerra al reggiseno, bruciandolo in piazza in nome dell'emancipazione.

Dagli anni 70 però il reggipetto ritorna il mercato dell'intimo è invaso da una valanga di modelli, colori e stampe, fino poi ad arrivare ai giorni nostri ed il wonderbra il reggiseno che regala una taglia in più!
